tea bag design artefacts for a user-behaviour study

EXCHANGE PROJECT

Glasgow School of Arts, Scotland

Guide: Kirsty Ross & Janet Kelly

DURATION
2 weeks, 2014

/ ABOUT

The project was part of a Design Theory study focused on studying product semantics and related user behaviour. We observed a daily activity to analyze how product features affected usage and vice-versa. After observation, we had to make artefacts or experimental variations to the product of study and see how users would react.

I chose the act of 'Using Tea Bags' and conducted a study by making various prototypes and user-testing them. The final artefacts and insights were then displayed like museum artifacts.

/ CONCEPT EXPLORATION FOR THE ARTEFACTS

/ THE ARTEFACT MUSEUM

I displayed the different artefacts I built. Each artefact had a note-card that listed the various reactions and responses I gathered while testing the artefacts with the users.

/ USER-BEHAVIOUR INSIGHTS

Each artefact and the way it was used, helped gather insights into how people respond to changes in color, texture, form and size based on their culture and past experiences.
