The Brün Health ecosystem included 2 newly designed and patented pregnancy monitoring devices,

  • Brün Meena, a portable cardiotocograph wearable for pregnant patients in clinical settings

  • Brün Mini, a handheld cordless fetal doppler for at-home use by pregnant women

  • A supplemental native mobile app (iOS & Android) for tracking device collected data, &

  • Pregnancy&Me, an informational website and mobile app for pre-conception through postpartum guidance for users.

bhrun (भ्रूण) or Bhrūna in Sanskrit means an unborn child or fetus

​Brün Health is an ISO 13485 certified Indian MSME. It was born out of the Stanford- India Biodesign programme in 2014 as a health-tech startup funded by Series A investments and several startup funds.

/ THE PROCESS

As a core team members I managed a diverse portfolio of Industrial Design, CFM-manufacturing, UI/UX (iOS and Android apps), packaging, and branding assets. The products were focused on medical electronics and web- connected solutions primarily in areas of at-home and clinical pregnancy care and monitoring.

The products were born out of the Biodesign process of DISCOVER, DEFINE, DESIGN and DELIVER through extensive clinical immersion, field research and co-creation with healthcare stakeholders and in partnership with research medical schools. A lot of the research and learning came from field, observing and interviewing patients, nurses and doctors at several health centres across India and similar emerging geographies.
I worked on the product design, prototyping, user-testing, pilot manufacturing and supported with clinical testing.

/ PATIENT & DOCTOR APP

A large part of the UX and UI experience of the first verion of the app was mapping the how the service would be delivered to both patients at-home and to doctors monitoring patients in clinical settings. Thus, two secured login process were created for different products, considering future scalability of the app too.

/ INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

We mapped current and future features to create an integrated service via bluetooth across the hardware and software components. Information architecture were created, followed by screen design leading to app developed and testing.

/ PREGNANCY&ME

an informational platform as a website and mobile app for pre-conception through postpartum guidance for users

The Pregnancy&Me section led them the a sub-site which served as an information portal and a marketing site.

The P&Me platform for started as information source with a community building aspect for women, and new-mothers through their pre-to-post partum journey, and with the intention to scale it to future services.
